Sub: Laser Printer
Toner, Copier Toner, Duplicator and Inkjet Supplies
I have just learned from one of my distributors
that due to the Earthquake, Tsunami as well as the Nuclear problems
in Japan that there will be a shortage of supplies in the very near
future. Since all copier and laser printer supplies and Inkjets are
manufactured in Japan then there is a very good chance the United
States, as well as other countries of the world, will be without
supplies for a period. This all is determined by where the factory
is located. At this time it is figured that if the factory is from
Tokyo to the North then then chances are very slim that anything
will be shipped anytime soon. From Tokyo to the South things might
be Okay, but it all depends on their getting the parts needs to make
the supplies. With this being said, we have already been told that
Canon has begun rationing supplies. We know that this affect at
least 2 companies, Canon and Hewlett Packard. this is because Canon
makes HP's laser printer toner supplies, as well as bits of others.
We have compiled a list of what we know and how it affects the US

I wasn’t given a date as to when to expect the
shortages to come about, but I was told that when it begins to
expect these cartridges to be very difficult to be found. Once I
hear that news I will let you know. I am aware that as of today that
all the incoming orders are arriving okay, as they were shipped
prior to the earthquake, but Canon is already beginning to rationing
some of the cartridges to extend them over this time. The next
orders are already known to be delayed in shipping, and for how long
it will take to for them to begin their shipments again is still
unknown. It could be a short time but then it could be a while due
to the radiation leaks and when the plants get back into operation.
In case you call and want to know the shelf life of a toner
cartridge, under normal room temperature and storage it will last
for 2 – 3 years, if not a little longer.
This only affects OEM brand cartridges. People
that use compatibles should not be affected. |
